Palm Sunday Reflections

        As I sit in silent retrospect and ponder on your Passion;

My thoughts, in awesome wonder, take off in this fashion:

 

In all the things we suffer Lord, here in this vale of tears;

The wonder is that what you did can banish all our fears.

 

The wonder is your graces are so freely given out;

The wonder is that this is what salvation is all about.

 

They're with us in the morning and at night;

They're with us in full view, or out of sight.

 

The wonder is they show up in how we treat our neighbor;

In the way we make decisions; in our actions and our labor.

 

In what we think and say and do, they show how much we care;

And certainly they're present in the times we give to prayer.

 

The wonder is these graces will never cease to flow;

The more we use them, the more abundant will they grow.

 

And this is why I sit and muse in this particular fashion —

It's the wonder of that love you gave us in your Passion.
